MOR participated in the A Pelago Accelerator during its launch phases in both Turku (Åbo) and Stockholm, gaining access to one of the Baltic Sea region’s most dynamic innovation environments. A Pelago is designed to support early‑stage blue‑economy and sustainability‑driven ventures by connecting entrepreneurs with researchers, investors, and industry partners across Finland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden. The programme focuses on accelerating solutions that strengthen the resilience of coastal communities, promote circular resource use, and contribute to a healthier Baltic Sea.
In Turku, MOR joined the accelerator’s initial cohort, benefiting from workshops, mentoring, and cross‑border collaboration with Finnish marine innovators. This phase provided valuable insights into regional resource flows, circular business models, and the potential for upcycling marine by‑products such as fish‑skin. It also helped establish early partnerships and refine MOR’s strategic direction.
The Stockholm phase further strengthened MOR’s network within Sweden’s blue‑economy ecosystem. Through A Pelago, MOR connected with Ocean Collective, sustainability experts, and innovation hubs working on circular materials and regenerative marine practices. The programme offered tailored support in business development, impact measurement like KPI:s, and communication, helping MOR position itself as a pioneering actor in sustainable upcycling.
Together, the Turku and Stockholm experiences provided MOR with a strong cross‑border foundation, enabling the company to build a scalable model rooted in Nordic collaboration, circular innovation, and community‑driven development.
